We named the Reserve El Congal because it's name comes from the troops of Congo´s monkeys ( Alowatta Palliata ) or well known as howler monkey, that run free in the reserve.
We have more than 25 years carrying the reserve. Nature conservation has always been the most important aspect for us.

Congal gives tourists the opportunity to interact with nature that Arenal-Montevere area offers, the interpretation from our guides, and experience the benefits of conservation and supporting our enviroment.
El Congal Private Reserve offers to all visitors one of the most impressive and beautiful scenes of the zone of San Carlos.
Located at 500 meters over the level of the sea, in a zone that determine Rain Tropical Forest with relative humidity of annual 85% and one temperature that reaches a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius, this paradise offers to the visitor the opportunity to observe birds (near 170 recognized species), mammals, reptiles and amphibians, symbiotic variety of insects, relations, etc.
